In the integration phase, the prototype from the first phase will be realised and expanded by the team of Software Developers and Software Metadata Experts.

In close cooperation with other NFDI consortia, a federated infrastructure will be created specifically for NFDI and adapted to its specific needs. The harmonisation of metadata will serve as a basis for establishing a connection to the EOSC.

nfdi.software will therefore not only improve and expand the infrastructure, but also provide quality assurance and improve and consolidate metadata. Incubators will be set up to avoid redundancies and make the service practicable.
Not least, a prototype AI model (e.g. using LLMs) will provide suggestions for further enrichment of Metadata, supporting metadata suggestions. In addition, an operational concept will be drawn up during this phase, taking into account costs and financing. This will prepare nfdi.software for long-term, sustainable service.
